Tim Chaisson Announced as Finalist in 2013 CCMA Discovery Program

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) has announced the final six jury-selected acts who will be participating in the inaugural 2013 CCMA Discovery Program. This exciting new initiative was created by the CCMA as part of its current mandate to educate and support Canadian country music artists in pursuit of a career in country music.
"The CCMA has been working diligently to launch this project. Judging by the large number of submissions and interest, there is clearly a demand for access to the kind of insight and opportunities we are offering." said CCMA President, Don Green. "The music industry as a whole has embraced this project and we thank them for their support."
The CCMA Discovery Program acts will first be flown to Toronto later this month to participate in the CCMA's Music Industry Discovery Week, discovering more about the music business and artist development in industry-led information sessions. This summer, the acts will each be introduced to an established Canadian country music act for mentorship purposes. The CCMA Discovery Program acts will also be performing at the CCMA Discovery Showcase during this year's Country Music Week September 5-8, in Edmonton, Alberta.
During Country Music Week, one act will be selected by an industry jury to receive the CCMA Discovery Award as well as prizing that includes: music video funding (courtesy of CMT), a Masterbuilt acoustic guitar (courtesy of Epiphone Guitars), cash (courtesy of galaxie) and a prize package from RDR Music/Lauren Tutty Promotions.
